Hayes Reilly entered the retained executive search profession after a fifteen-year sales and marketing management career with two Fortune 100 consumer goods companies. In 1997 he joined a top-ten ranked retained executive search firm and within three years was asked to become a partner. Within six years he established Hayes Reilly Associates. He has conducted assignments across the major functional disciplines and at the president, vice president, and C-levels. |

Hayes' principal practice areas are within the Consumer Goods and Consumer Healthcare Products industries. His list of repeat client companies includes both established Fortune 500 and emerging start-up companies. He personally leads each search assignment, consulting with clients and guiding negotiations with candidates to successful conclusion.
Hayes started his career in 1982 as a management trainee with the largest Consumer Goods companies Unilever, within their Lever Brothers subsidiary. His proven ability to exceed company managers earned him several promotions and the distinction of being one of the youngest area managers in the history of the company.
In 1989 he was recruited to join Borden Foods Corporation, which later became KKR portfolio company and was promoted several times to his last position of National Sales Manager. In previous positions at Borden, Hayes was assigned to headquarter account responsibility for Wal-Mart, Inc. in Bentonville, AR, and Kroger Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He worked out of the Borden's headquarters for seven years.
Hayes received a B.A. in psychology with additional concentration in business administration from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He was a four-year starter on the football team and earned first team All-East and All-Conference honors. For a portion of his senior year, he interned at Pfizer's Global Headquarters. Hayes completed M.B.A. coursework at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
Hayes is an active member of the CHPA (Consumer Healthcare Products Association). He is also a member of IACPR (International Association of Corporate & Professional Recruiters), and a member of IFT (International Food Technologists). In addition, Hayes is an active member of MENG (Marketing Executives Networking Group). He is the former president of Business Network International and a former trustee at Link Community School in Newark, New Jersey.
Hayes and his wife, Elyse, and daughters, Juliette and Madeleine, reside in northern New Jersey. |
