The fundamental guiding concern of Hayes Reilly Associates is the achievement of its clients' human capital goals. With this in mind, Hayes Reilly, founder and president, plays the lead role in every search assignment.

With the client as an active partner, we customize our process to reflect the particulars of each assignment. Believing communication to be essential to a successful search, we take the initiative in keeping the client frequently and regularly informed of the progress of the search.

The typical search process is outlined below.

Initial Meeting
Hayes Reilly meets with the client for an in-depth discussion regarding the client's industry, business, and organization; the position responsibilities; and the required skills and core competencies necessary. Key members of the client organization participate, ideally including the company or division head, the hiring executive, and the human resources executive. When feasible, other members of the HRA recruiting team also attend.

Specifications Development
HRA develops a draft of the search specifications, reflecting the initial meeting and detailed discussions. The draft document provides an opportunity for feedback from appropriate individuals in the client organization. The finalized specifications, which describe the core competencies of the ideal candidate, are shared with the client, as well as the research team at HRA.

Research
Hayes Reilly Associates conducts "fresh research" for every search. We thoroughly investigate target organizations and identify individuals who will be the focus of recruiting efforts. Our boutique model permits unrestricted access to many more qualified candidates. The result is that our clients benefit from a recruiting effort that covers more target companies, yielding the largest pool of high-quality candidates. Our research team makes up to 100 new candidate contacts for every new search assignment. We also select and reach out to trusted industry contacts and keep a close watch on industry publications, associations, and events. HRA utilizes internal and external databases and closely evaluates related search assignments. Research is heaviest at the outset of the search; however, it is continued and refined throughout the entire search process.

Candidate Development and Assessment
As an advocate for our clients, we at Hayes Reilly Associates develop a significant number of candidates through extensive individual conversations and networking with well-placed and respected industry leaders. Hayes Reilly personally assesses each candidate against experiential requirements and potential cultural fit. With sensitivity to confidentiality, candidate appropriateness is confirmed with other industry contacts.

Candidate Interviews
Hayes Reilly Associates creates a shortlist of candidates and holds face-to-face, behavioral-based interviews with each one. This shortlist includes a sufficient number of individuals to allow a smaller, more refined slate to be selected for ultimate referral to the client. The purpose of the interview is twofold: to meet and assess the candidate relative to the requirements of the position and how well he or she matches the client's corporate culture; and to properly present both client and position for the candidate's own evaluation. Hayes Reilly Associates closely considers all areas that are important in assessing candidate fit. Similarly, all relevant aspects of the client's business and organization are discussed, including the expected contribution of the position.

Final Slate Presentation (30-Day Results)
Following the initial interviews, HRA selects the most appropriate candidates from the shortlist to present to the client company. Only those candidates judged most likely to succeed in the position and aligned most closely with the specifications appear on this final slate. Final candidate profiles, as well as a search analysis report are presented within 30 days.

Reference and Background Checks
HRA conducts a comprehensive reference and background evaluation with individuals the candidate has identified and, when possible, with individuals whom the references identify. A detailed report is provided to the client. A detailed background check report is also provided.

Selection, Negotiation and Closure
We remain involved through the selection of the most appropriate candidate, providing advice to the client and participating in discussions leading to the candidate's decision to join the company.

On-Boarding-Follow-up
Once the search is complete, we maintain contact with client and candidate to ensure smooth integration to the company.

One-Year Guarantee
Should a candidate leave or be terminated within one year of the completion of the search, we will reconduct the search for no additional professional service fee.
